The sixth and final kombatant to join the Mortal Kombat 11 roster in what is widely believed to be the first Kombat Pack has almost arrived.
Officially revealed at Final Kombat, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn will join Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel and fellow guest characters The Terminator and The Joker come March 17 for Kombat Pack owners.
Al Simmons, once the U.S. government’s greatest soldier and most effective assassin, was mercilessly executed by his own men. Resurrected from the ashes of his own grave in a flawed agreement with the powers of darkness, Simmons is reborn as a creature from the depths of Hell. A Hellspawn. Now he is thrust into the world of Mortal Kombat, where he will fight for supremacy against all kombatants.
Voiced by Keith David, Spawn utilises a healthy arsenal of weapons including chains, guns, necroplasmic energy blasts and his demonic cape to lay waste to his opponents. The video concludes with Spawn using his chains to shred the skin off Scorpion, before savagely tearing what’s left off of his skeleton. With such brutality there is little doubt that Spawn will feel right at home in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Bundled along with Spawn will be a Matinee Skin Pack, featuring “Osh-Tekk Vandal” Kotal Kahn, “Space Marine” Jacqui and “Swashbuckler” Erron Black. In addition, Jacqui will also be receiving her very own “Hellspawn” variant.
With Spawn rounding out the Kombat Pack, questions are beginning to arise as to what’s next for Mortal Kombat 11. Considering the game’s popularity since its release our bets are on a second Kombat Pack: Fujin, anyone?
