Despite the Austrian Oak’s likeness as the Terminator confirmed in the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack roster reveal trailer, sources indicate that his unique voice is not part of the deal.
Instead the highly anticipated T-800 will be voiced by an actor who sounds similar to Schwarzenegger, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter and apparently confirmed by sources at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
A tweet by series co-creator Ed Boon following the Kombat Pack trailer’s release indicated to many that the studio had “gotten” Arnold, but to what degree remains to be seen. As expected, the news has continued to be met with mixed reactions.
Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his role as the Terminator (T-800), and stars alongside Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong in Terminator: Date Fate. The film is a direct sequel to 1991’s critically acclaimed Terminator 2: Judgment Day and is due to be released in late October.
The Terminator (T-800) will be available from October 8 for Kombat Pack owners, and will be followed by Sindel on November 26, then The Joker and Spawn in 2020 on January 28 and March 17 respectively.
