After months of pokes, prods, teases and trolls, the full roster for what we expect will be the first of two Kombat Packs has been revealed.
Following an earlier leak, NetherRealm Studios posted the trailer fans had been waiting for, albeit short of many surprises. While many had assumed that protagonist Ash Williams from The Evil Dead was all but confirmed, it seems that his position may have possibly been taken by DC Comics’ The Joker, an inclusion that has proven to be controversial if early reactions are anything to go by.
From the official press release:
The Terminator T-800 from “Terminator: Dark Fate” is a cyborg assassin, sent back in time from a post-apocalyptic future. He is nearly indestructible and possesses superior technology, fighting skills and artificial intelligence capabilities making him the ultimate killing machine. The Terminator T-800 in Mortal Kombat 11 will feature the likeness of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
DC’s The Joker is one of the greatest Super-Villains of all time and a popular culture icon. Ruthless, incredibly dangerous and reveling in creating chaos, The Joker brings a deadly and unpredictable combat style to Mortal Kombat 11.
With Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, the Terminator, Sindel, The Joker and Spawn confirmed, the biggest shock came in the form of availability. While previous titles from the studio has seen DLC released fairly consistently on a monthly basis, the early access release schedule for this Kombat Pack spans into 2020.
- Shang Tsung – Available now
- Nightwolf – Available now
- Terminator (T-800) – October 8, 2019
- Sindel – November 26, 2019
- The Joker – January 28, 2020
- Spawn – March 17, 2020
Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments below. While Shang Tsung and Nightwolf have set the bar high, we feel that the best is yet to come.
