Get ready for the biggest Mortal Kombat auction in history as numerous items from 1995’s Mortal Kombat and 1997’s Mortal Kombat: Annihilation go under the hammer for the very first time.
Threshold Entertainment is teaming up with Premiere Props to auction off a number of props, costume pieces and even some additional collectibles such as figurines and classic games. The auction was necessitated by Threshold Entertainment’s decision to move to smaller premises.
Kamidogu sat down recently in a bonus episode of our podcast to discuss the auction with Threshold Entertainment CEO Larry Kasanoff, as well as executive vice president of Premiere Props Dan Levin. During the episode, we get a good look at a number of props, including the original doors from which Goro entered in the 1995 movie, a Reptile statue, as well as a number of weapons including Shao Kahn’s whip from Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
A number of special guests from the original film will also be attending the event, including Linden Ashby (Johnny Cage), Keith Cooke (Reptile) and Chris Casamassa (Scorpion). Best of all, the auction is open to fans across the globe. When questioned about international buyers, Mr. Levin confirmed that items will be shipped worldwide, no matter their size or weight.
The auction will be held on 10 December 2022 at 11:00 am PST at Hollywood Live Auctions, located at 128 Sierra St, El Segundo, CA 90245. If you are unable to attend in person, prospective buyers are encouraged to pre-register over at hollywoodliveauctions.com where you can also take a look at the full catalog of items on offer.
