After an extensive period without any real news, NetherRealm Studios have today unleashed a gameplay trailer for Conan the Barbarian alongside three screenshots.
Likely to be Mortal Kombat 1’s penultimate addition to its roster, Conan will become available during the early access period beginning January 21, with wide availability beginning January 28. The second Mortal Kombat title to feature Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness in succession, Conan the Barbarian is based on the 1982 film of the same name.
Born on a battlefield, Conan was sold into slavery after his parents were slain and village destroyed by the malevolent warlord Thulsa Doom. Wielding his iconic Atlantean Sword and enormous physique, Conan seeks vengeance and finds himself in unusual surroundings.
Gameplay aside his Fatality is absolutely devastating, along with his Animality which is partially shown off in the trailer. Morphing into a raging bull and charging at his opponent, Conan impales his victim before taking them for a wild spin whilst goring them to death.
