As the COVID-19 health pandemic continues to paralyse the globe keeping people at home and workplaces quiet, NetherRealm Studios have dropped a bombshell teaser trailer late this evening.
As its “The Saga Continues” tagline suggests, the teaser largely features Raiden and Liu Kang discussing their combined victory over Kronika following the events of Mortal Kombat 11’s blockbuster story mode. Earning ultimate power over Kronika’s Hourglass, Liu Kang sets out to architect a new timeline before a familiar voice interrupts him.
Stepping in through a newly opened portal accompanied by two mystery kombatants, Shang Tsung commands Liu Kang to cease before he dooms all of reality. While Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa’s famed portrayal of Shang Tsung featured heavily in Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt, he was noticeably absent from the game’s Story mode.
