Shortly after the reveal of Jason Voorhees and apparent reveal of Shinnok, NetherRealm Studios have hosted their fifth Kombat Kast today and more juicy details have been spilled regarding Mortal Kombat X’s Story Mode.
The Kombat Kast proceeded to show off a few minutes of Story Mode gameplay from Chapter 1. Without spoiling too much, we can see that Mortal Kombat X’s Story Mode will contain Quick Time Events during some of the cinematic cutscenes.
In addition, we get a glimpse of post-Cyborg Sub-Zero during what we could only assume to be his alliance with Shinnok, and his outfit seems to reflect that of his older brother, Noob Saibot, now that Sub-Zero’s costume has become very dark and presumably black. The Kombat Kast then moved on to show us some of Johnny Cage’s variations, which include Fisticuffs, Stunt Double and A-List.
But most importantly of all, they have officially de-confirmed Mokap as a playable character, to the dismay of the entire Mortal Kombat fanbase. Mokap, you will be missed.
Mortal Kombat X will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC when it launches on April 14, 2015. In addition, it will be available for both iOS and Android devices in April.
